Drafting a song

Here's part of one
1

Ever feel like you get there too slow? You take the longest road? This is part of a song I started drafting last night. I wrote it years ago.

Here are the first two verses.

I've seen all those faces
I know all the places
That you want me to go
But I get there too slow
I take the longest road

You're yelling out directions
And seeing reflections
Of who you wanted to be
When you used to be free
With no uncertainty

Tonight reminded me that so much happiness and satisfaction come from working on my art—getting it down, getting my hands dirty, no matter how good or bad the initial drafts.
